The annual neighborhood canoe and kayak races
This is one of the many free activities that we've enjoyed this summer. Among our favorites were concerts in the park, church pool and pizza parties, the library reading program, vacation bible school, gathering with friends and lots and lots of swimming!
What were some of your fun and frugal summer moments?

Looks like you had great family fun. Looks like the little man had to think about it at first. Nice to live where there is much to do. They all looked like they had a great time and topped off with snow cones!

Fun and frugal for me was anything involving the garden. I spent so much time out there enjoying it, even when I wasn't working in it. :)
I am long overdue for a canoe trip. We have one, but didn't drag it out once this year! That is blasphemy!

There's no place like home! Sometimes it's hard to believe how lucky we are living in this beautiful community! We're even more blessed to have wonderful neighbors like LaLa who coordinate such fun. Love the pictures of the kids...beautiful and cheerful as always! Xxoo

Oh I miss lake visits!
We've mostly been sticking close to home and enjoying the playground across the street.

We always like free and fun things to do. Now I wish that those free things were in walking or biking distance (like some of yours are). Looks like you had a great time boating. Love the blue lips!

K- I love checking out your pics! Thanks for sharing. I've also been enjoying the many free things offered in NYC this summer like movies in Bryant Park, Summer Streets, ferry rides, and my favorite is to just lay in the grass in Sheeps Meadow in Central Park and read. Thanks for putting these wonderful thoughts in my head this morning! <3

What a lovely neighborhood you live in! Most of our free summer is spent pulling weeds [:)],but we do manage to hit the river and the beach quite often which is a nice break. xx

Great fun! Love free days! We did summer reading program as well, VBS, Boonshoft museum (got in free with friends membership), swimming, playing at the y, & lots of playing with friends. Looking forward to playing outside this fall!
