I am ridiculous about ice...especially while pregnant this past summer. We make ours the old-fashioned way but when we visit my in-laws with their ice machine we enjoy it to the max.

I actually don't like lots of ice unless it's sweltering outside. A few cubes...okay, especially in water with lemon.

Things I make do with - hmmm. I think I need to think about that one some more...

We'd love to give it a go! Thanks for the offer!

Love your blog... Thanks for stopping by mine. I have enjoyed catching up on your posts!

Great post. Some of the things that we take for granted deserve more attention than we usually give... Yes, ice. What would we do without it? Perish the thought!

We always make our ice in trays. I am on a well and the minerals in my [hard] water break the ice makers. Took awhile to realize it just wasn't worth fixing anymore. Yes, there are filters we could put on, but they make the water taste 'funny'.

Ah, yes, those European summer days without ice. I remember that clearly as well. Although the biggest thing I missed was access to the bathroom whenever I wanted :)

Anyway, we may have an extra ice machine. I have no idea if it would work in your frig but you're welcome to it if it would work. It came out of a traditional style refrigerator that we bought (used) for our basement.

Let me know if you're interested.
