Yarn Along ~ October 5

Is it really Wednesday again?  Wish I could say that I got more knitting done.  But I think the nesting has kicked in full-throttle, so I'm finding it hard to sit too still.  Since something has to give, I think this week I'll settle for a scrubbed-out fridge, mopped floors, organized kid's clothes, and clean bathrooms.  Not bad, huh?

I did finish the strap for my baby hat from this sweet book and now the hat just needs to be assembled.  I also get to do a lot of wool washing, mainly to prepare for baby...does that count for the yarn along?

As for reading, well, I'm a bit scatter-brained there as well.  So I've been perusing these perfectly appropriate and timely books.....

Flour Sack Monday: Couponing - A Family Affair

Ah, couponing.  Time-consuming and tedious, but always worth the effort at the check-out lane.  Want to make it more fun?  Involve your kids!

Take, for instance, Saturday morning.  I am sitting at the table with my oldest daughter while we sort through coupons.  She weeds out the expired ones while I organize the new.

Since we women love to chat while we work...while our hands are busy....we did just that.  We spent this time talking about her.  This sweet girl who so patiently waits her turn while we take care of the younger ones finally got some time to talk about whatever is on her growing-up mind.  (She's becoming quite a special young lady, might I add!)

A lovely morning together.  Just she and I.  And many, many coupons.
