(***I have just been told that this phenomena here in New Hampshire is called 'hibernating', never 'lazy'. Therefore, I am amending my post title. Now that's much better!***)
I have been feeling lazy lately. At first I chalked it up to illness, then the holidays, then to a whirlwind trip back "home" to pay final respects to my late grandpa. After that, we all needed a few days of nothingness.
But now, those events are becoming more and more in the past and I still feel just plain lazy! For one, it is darn cold here in New Hampshire. The warmest place to be in our house is by far in the room with the wood stove, and there is not a whole lot to do in this room except for sit. For another, Netflix has recently gotten worlds better - has anyone else noticed?
It's not that we're not doing anything. We get school done, and daily things like dinner, dishes, showers, etc. And sometimes the laundry. Ahem. We even did school on Saturday this week because we are still catching up. We have our co-op on Tuesdays and we ski every Thursday. We go to church on Sunday. I even went out for an evening with some new girlfriends this past Friday! Really, it's true! (I would have taken a picture to prove it but I certainly did not want to scare these lovely ladies away by whipping out the camera.)
Oh, and there has been knitting. Last night, while watching The Diary of Anne Frank, I got almost an entire hat done. (Knitting always makes one feel productive somehow, even in the midst of a lot of movie watching!) The movie, by the way, was excellent. The actress was just what I imagined Anne Frank to be like. Amazing. I became fascinated with her after visiting the Anne Frank Haus in Amsterdam several years ago. Her story melts my heart every time I hear it. I so wish they could have stayed in hiding for a few months longer until the war ended. They were so very close.
Today after church, when the wee one was napping, Dan and the three olders and I watched Hugo. Very long, but not bad, I say!
So see, a whole lot of movie watching lately. And then there's Downtown! Usually I can't sit still for much TV, but for some reason it is coming pretty easily right now.
I don't even have many new pictures to share. Laziness, I tell ya!
I think I shall blame it on that wonderful wood stove.
Have a wonderful week, friends!
