I finished my thank-you hat and it is ever so fun to have a new hat to wear!
It is an easy pattern that can be knitted up quickly, so it's a great project for some instant gratification. Slow knitters like myself can appreciate this!
I love the pattern the yarn formed - especially the stripeys up at the top by the tassel. (Just how is it that whenever I knit something for myself, it gets overtaken by one of my little people in a matter of minutes?)
I meant to do reading other than homeschooling reading this week, but I digress. Back to John Holt's book on unschooling. It is so very interesting, but I must admit, I still cannot quite wrap my mind around how it works. Maybe I'm too type "A," or maybe I love worksheets and sheet protectors too much! Lately, my reads on the Charlotte Mason approach to schooling have been resonating with me the most.
Oh, and I'm casting on for these family mittens to match my new hat! I haven't gotten so far. Somehow, my rib stitch turns into a seed stitch whenever I make mittens. What's up with that??
Joining up with Ginny this week - happy knitting and reading to you!
