Remember when birthdays were the best thing ever?
Like for this brand new 2 year old?
Yes, our sweet baby girl is officially 2! (Although she swears she's 3 whenever asked :) This little one tries desperately to keep up with her (much) older siblings and does fairly good job hanging in there most of the time. Sometimes I worry about this babe and her spot in our family. "Do we spend enough time doing things she likes to do?" "Toddler things?" "Am I reading to her enough?" "Do we revel in her world long enough or do we always expect her to keep up with ours?"
These youngest children sure have a much different experience than the olders that came before them. Life turns, seasons change, and we do things a bit differently each time. But I am learning that when it comes to parenting, different is OK! All four of my very unique kiddos have completely different needs at completely different times. And we roll with those needs and wants one kid at a time.
I do believe that our smallest one, Miss Lena Jane, who is much loved and adored by us all completely embraces her post as the family baby!
Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!
On this celebratory note, I felt that something wasn't quite right with our birthday posts. Now I know what it is! My boy went and turned 5 at the very end of summer and in the midst of a new school year I plumb forgot to write his birthday post!
Hans, who is enjoying kindergarten at the local school, had the special honor of having his birthday fall on the very first day of school. What a star he was!
Many happy returns to these two little ones of mine. Mama is happy for you both and just a bit sad for me all at the same time. My babes are growing up!
